In Acts 15 we see that from almost the very beginning, the early church had to wrestle with issues over which they disagreed. Even the best Christians don’t always agree. The issues in Acts 15 were significant, and the apostles were right there, yet God didn’t resolve it by sending them a vision or speaking through a prophet. Though our issues may be different, in this chapter we can discern several principles for how to seek God’s will together as a body of believers. As you read through the chapter consider, “What did the church do when they needed a new policy about Gentiles coming to faith?” And “To what sources did they appeal in discerning God’s will?”
